Vacancy 5649 - Summer Workers - Work in USA / Canada / Australia / New Zealand

Job description: BUNAC offers many and varied US summer camp placement opportunities. You can apply to work directly  with children as a camp counsellor through Summer Camp USA, or to work in one of the support jobs at camp through the Kitchen and Maintenance Programme (KAMP USA). On Work America, full-time students have a terrific opportunity for a worthwhile summer working in almost any job, anywhere in the USA during the summer vacation. Alternatively, if you are looking for ways to fill out a gap year, Work Canada, Work Australia and Work New Zealand offer great opportunities for combining work and travel in alternative settings. Vacancy 5647 - Summer Camp Counsellors - Work in USA/Canada

Job description: As a camp counsellor on Summer Camp USA, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a fun and worthwhile summer living alongside and working with children on a summer camp in the USA or Canada. This is a great experience for anyone who intends to work with children. For everyone however, it’s a great way to gain new work skills, meet a whole new circle of friends and discover what it’s really like to live, work and travel in the USA. Coaching opportunities include teaching football, tennis, basketball, horseriding, swimming, sailing, waterskiing and golf or even arts and crafts, music or nature.
Person specification: Some form of experience of working with children is essential, although what Camp Directors are looking for are highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic staff, who enjoy working with children, and want to spend at least 2 months working in North America.
Length of contract: From June 2009 for approx. two to two and a half months
Start date: Early June 2009
Hours of work: Full time, leaving at the latest on 15th June 2009.
Rate of pay: Minimum salary for under 21's: $985, over 21's: $1215 for the summer, with flights paid for by BUNAC.

Vacancy 5608 - Camp Leaders

Job description: Camp Leaders offers participants the opportunity to spend an amazing summer in the USA working on a children's summer camp. The experience involves living and working with children. There are various roles including activity specialists, general counsellors and support staff. Working at a summer camp will help you to develop skills that will boost your CV, in addition to providing you with a life-changing experience.
Person specification: You must be able to travel by 20 June 2009 and be available for a minimum of 9 weeks. You must have a passion for working with children, skills you can teach to children (sports, arts, music, etc) and some previous experience of working with children in a leadership role (teacher, youth leader, sports coach, etc). For general counsellors you should be enthusiastic with an interest for and some experience of working with children.
Length of contract: Minimum 9 week contract with option to travel after camp
Start date: End of May/Throughout June
Hours of work: Full time
Rate of pay: Minimum $930 based on 9 week contract
Closing date: 30/03/09   Location: USA
