Vacancy 5601 - Newcastle Work Experience Scheme - IT / Database Placement
Job description: A company that produces insulated panels for industry currently plan their business using Excel spread sheets. This is becoming limiting and cumbersome to administer. They want a system which links to their sales system which manipulates the data in an MS Access database. The system will then be extended to a shop floor data capture system. The key aims for the project are to convert Excel based plan to Access based plan, add shop floor data capture, produce output reports as required and be user friendly for operators.
Person specification: Candidate must be experienced and competent in MS Access (eg. up to the level of macro writing and sharing data between different networked base databases). The successful candidate will be able to discuss the issues with various members of staff, interpret their requirements and write the software to suit. A high degree of Beta site testing will be performed prior to implementation.
