Booking a Stall at The Union Society

The Union Society has two sorts of stalls which can be booked by students for their own promotion - indoor and outdoor. In general, outdoor stalls are usually more available than indoor stalls and allow for more proactive use of stunts and music in your promotions.

Indoor stalls are situated in Rijos or the Mens Bar. We occassionally place stalls in the Global Cafe or the Basement depending on requirements. These stalls are booked through the Marketing Department.

Outdoor stalls are situated to the left or right of the main entrance to the Union building. They are booked through Union Reception although you will be asked to come and speak to the Marketing department as a matter of course.

If you are pursuing a commercial venture you will be asked to pay a fee for the stall. If you are a student society, this fee is waived. However, if you book the stall as a student society and then undertake a commercial activity for a third party company, you will be asked to pay.

e.g. If you are a student wishing to sell second hand computer games, you will be charged a fee. If you are the Indie Soc selling tickets for a social, you will not be charged. If you are the Economics Society but you are solely promoting an event for your sponsor, Accenture, you will be charged.

If you need to cancel a stall, please contact Union Reception and/or the Marketing department as soon as possible so that we can remove the stall or replace you with another booking. Stalls are at a premium in the first few months of the academic year and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
