One of only 5 Gold awards' handed out at this year's Sound Impact ceremony went to Newcastle Student Union.
The Sound Environmental Impact Awards is an accreditation scheme to help Students’ Unions do their bit for the environment. Over a million students have seen environmental initiatives put in place in their Unions. This year, seventy-nine Students’ Unions took part from across the UK. Newcastle has made huge progress over the past year and has increased their overall score by 319 points, increasing from a Bronze to achieve Gold Award this year is a massive achievement.
King's Walk is to be closed for nine months with effect from 17 January 2009 to enable major work to take place as part of the development of the new Student and Administrative Services Building.
